Introducing…The Indie Biz Village!

We are thrilled to announce that for the first time ever, The Stitch Festival will be playing host to The Indie Biz Village: A market-style area curated by yours truly, to showcase eight independent brands who’ve never exhibited at the show before. We’ll also have an Untld Project hub handing out indie biz advice, inspiration and more exciting things to be announced soon…

The Stitch Festival is happening at The Business Design Centre from 23 – 26 March 2023, and we’d love to see you there! Book your tickets here.

But first, here’s a sneak peek at the brands who’ll be joining us in The Indie Biz Village…

By Hand London

By Hand London is an independent sewing pattern brand, established in 2012 and based in London. They create printed and PDF sewing patterns in sizes UK 2-38 for makers who like to dress up, stand out and become the masters of their own style!

We don’t like to play favourites with sewing pattern companies but owner Elisalex did name a pattern after Untld Project founder Nerrisa so…

I Can Make Shoes

I Can Make Shoes is a unique shoemaking school which has been paving the way with teaching innovative shoemaking techniques for over a decade. Owner Amanda founded the company back in 2010 when she set out to develop a shoemaking process that makes the craft accessible for people to do from home.

You may have spotted Nerrisa going viral on #CobblerTok recently with her DIY mock croc boots!

Sew Sophie Crafts is home to a range of colourful, modern and beginner friendly cross stitch kits. Founded in 2019, Sophie has built the business around a desire to teach new crafters the mindful benefits of slow stitching, and shares this within her positive and motivational patterns.

A little birdy also told us she’s also writing a book about the mindful benefits of cross stitching. We can’t wait!

The Bargello Edit

Yep, Untld Project founder Nerrisa will also be representing her modern craft kit brand, The Bargello Edit, presumably by cloning herself. She started the brand in 2019 to bring the retro craft of bargello to the modern maker with on-trend colour ways and innovative projects.

Her designs are available as PDF patterns and kits to suit all budgets, and she stocks a world of supplies for when you’re ready to go rogue with your creations!
