14 indie stationery brands you need to know about

It’s National Stationery Week!

It’s not like we really need an excuse to stock up on small business desk candy, but National Stationery Week seems like as good a reason as any!

We’ve been at the London Stationery Show this week and have found loads more UK indie stationery brands to brighten up your workspace and Instagram feed…

From L-R:

This Personalised Small Business Hardback Journal (£20) from Wild Child Studio can be customised with a logo, your choice of colours and lined or plain pages. We feel more productive just looking at it! Wild Child Studio also has a huge range of greetings cards and specialises in inclusive LGBT+ designs.

This Soft Corduroy Pencil Case (£15) from Nikki’s Supply Store comes in a choice of blush pink, mustard or terracotta, and you can even add a charm to the zipper pull! As well as exclusive pencil cases, washi tapes and memo pads, Nikki’s Supply Store stocks stationery essentials and hard-to-find items from the USA and Japan.

From L-R:

We love the encouraging messages on this Set of Three Pens (£7.50) from Oh, Laura. Perfect for your keeping you motivated while you draft your PR pitches! We’ll try anything to get more organised and Oh, Laura has us covered with notepads, sticky notes and wall planners, all featuring her signature colourful hand lettering.

Dorcas Creates draws on her Nigerian heritage to create vibrant pieces that honour Black womanhood and Black girl joy. You know we’re big fans of a pink and red combo here at Untld Project, and we fell hard for this BHM Pattern Repeat Notebook (£10). Dorcas’ striking designs are also available as enamel pins, greetings cards and art prints.

From L-R:

Vivid By Maryam’s Fruit From Back Home Memo Pad (£5.50) is perfect for meal planning, shopping lists, and jotting down amazing business ideas over your morning coffee. Maryam’s joyful designs are inspired by her homeland of Bangladesh and are also available as art prints, greetings cards and bookmarks.

Ok so this isn’t technically from a stationery brand, but how could we not include The Bargello Edit’s 70s inspired Bargello Washi Tape? We’re big washi fans and use it for sewing, bullet journalling, making page markers, decorating snail mail, creating physical mood boards, decorating cupcakes… you name it, it’s been washi-ed!

From L-R:

What’s better than Korean food and baby animals? Peach Pink Art knows the way to our heart! You’re never too old for stickers, and this Korean Noodle Sticker (£1.79) is the perfect size for your phone, journal or water bottle. Peach Pink Art’s freakin’ adorable designs are also available on notepads, bookmarks and washi tape.

Pink? Check. Animal print? Check. This Grr Power Wild Cat Stationery Set (from £11) checks all our aesthetic boxes! The Daily Planner has sections for to do lists, emails, a daily reward, doodle square and even helps you keep track of your daily water intake! Be your best, hydrated self thanks to Fawn & Thistle!

From L-R:

We’re obsessed with Sister Paper Co’s tarot-inspired greetings card collection, and “The Future Looks Bright” would be the perfect encouraging message to send to a small biz pal! All of Sister Paper Co’s designs start as hand-painted ink or gouche artwork by owner Emma, which she turns into greetings cards, gift wrap and art prints.

Latitude’s luxury “jotebooks” intentionally lie somewhere between a notebook and journal, hence the name! They offer free customisation on all jotebooks, which is extra exciting if your name is never available on pre-personalised items. Latitude also sport impressive eco-credentials, with a portion of their profits going towards planting trees.

Coffeenotes notebooks are made entirely in the UK, using paper made from discarded disposable coffee cups. As well as their seriously impressive product innovation and sustainability, we love that their pads contain a mix of paper types like this lined, gridded and dot gridded Medio Notepad. Oh, and that red cover? It comes from cherry residue 🤯

As avid bullet journallers, we’d be remiss not to include a dot grid notebook and this Seventies Bullet Journal from Storigraphic just speaks to us! Storigraphic’s founders Roz and Nic have been life-long besties since meeting in art school, which makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. In addition to colourful paper products, they also make charming wooden pin badges!

From L-R:

Is there anything more pleasing than checking something off your to do list? We don’t think so either! This A6 Black Girl Notepad (£5.50) from By Candice Chenade is perfect for separating the mammoth tasks on your to do list into bitesize chunks. Candice’s signature illustrations are also available as larger planner pads, art prints and greetings cards.

This Gold Wire Letter Rack by Martha Brook is perfect for organising your presumably now your enormous collection of notepads and memo pads! Martha Brook stocks a huge range of pastel perfection planner pads, desk accessories and wedding-themed stationery.
