#LongLiveIndieBiz - September 2022

Everyone’s favourite monthly celebration of indie brands is here!

If you’re new around here, every month we share a few of the independent businesses who’ve caught our eye, here on the blog and on IG using #LongLiveIndieBiz.

If you’re looking for even more reasons to shop small, grab a cuppa - or something stronger - and sit back and enjoy September’s indie biz picks…

Pearl Aromas Birthday Cake
PAIR OF CERAMIC KITTY CATS by Naomi Anderson-Subryan
Stitchfinity advent calendar
Silly Loaf statement heart chain necklace

From L-R:

It’s Nerrisa'a birthday month (yes, month) so of course we had to kick things off with this amazing birthday cake wax melt snap bar (£2.50) from Pearl Aromas. It smells like sponge cake, whipped cream, strawberry jam and icing sugar, and it lasts a whopping 40 hours so you can keep that birthday party smell going all month long!

We’re big fans of Naomi Anderson-Subryan’s illustrations and paper collages on Instagram, and as major cat lovers this adorable pair of ceramic kitty cats (£60) obviously caught our eye! Every ceramic piece is handmade and ever so slightly different.

DIY PR members Stitchfinity know that advent calendars are big news for Christmas PR and have released a brand new cross stitch advent calendar (£49.95) this year. Every day you’ll open a numbered envelope with details of the day’s stitching project, resulting in a beautiful decoration you can bring out every year! Read more about festive trends for 2022 in our blog post.

Bake Off will soon be back on our screens, so why not channel some Pru energy with this stunner of a statement necklace (£25) from Silly Loaf? Loving the matchy matchy pink hair and earrings too!

Slow Moon bedtime journal
Verdant Alchemy pink bath salts
Fat Pom Poms terrazzo hair clips

From L-R:

Slow Moon’s bedtime journal (£8.50) encourages you to spend a few moments reflecting on your day to set you up for a blissful night’s sleep and prepare you for the next day. I think we could all do with a bit of that right now!

Hmmm perhaps we’re in need of a good night’s sleep as Verdant Alchemy’s “Ascent” pink Himalayan bath salts (from £12) also caught our eye this month! They contain geranium rose and ho-leaf oils to promote mental wellbeing and uplift the spirit, and lavender oil to soothe and calm the soul. Err, YES PLEASE.

The terrazzo trend is going NOWHERE and we’re so stinking obsessed with these zero waste hair clips (£10.99) that Fat Pom Poms creates using leftover resin. The crocodile clip makes these perfect for thin and thick hair, because there’s nothing worse than a clip slowly sliding it’s way out of your ‘do.

We don’t ONLY buy pink things from small businesses! How chic is this pinto plant pot (£30)? It could also be used as a utensil pot AND Manzo Design offer a bespoke colour service if you want to coordinate with your existing decor.

Cumo London Ankara blazer and shorts
LDH prism snips at Sew Me Sunshine
Ray of Soap
Elbie Northern Lights cross stitch

From L-R:

The ever-changing weather in the UK is proving very hard to dress for, but we think this cotton blazer and shorts set (£110) might be the answer! Cumo London are UK based but employ local artisan in Africa to bring their bold and colourful designs to life.

We’re forever losing our scissors amongst the crafting chaos, but there’s definitely less chance of that happening with these colourful prism snips from LDH (£27.50), available via their UK stockist, Sew Me Sunshine. They’d also make the perfect Christmas gift for a crafty pal, cough cough.

Trying to reduce your single-use plastics but fed up of mushy soap? We can personally confirm that Ray of Soap’s bars stay squish-free, make our skin silky smooth and smell heavenly, thanks to their cocoa butter-rich recipe. Their rose geranium soap (£5) is our fav!

Anyone else always start their Christmas crafting projects way too late? SAME. This Northern Lights cross stitch kit (£19.65) from Elbie Co. is the perfect cosy way to welcome the festive season, whether that’s a sofa craft for you or a gift for a crafty pal!

Wanna be a part of our monthly round ups? No worries babes, simply use the #LongLiveIndieBiz hashtag on IG and we’ll give you a cheeky shout out in one of our future blog posts!
