If you’re new around here, every month we share a few of the independent businesses who’ve caught our eye, here on the blog and on IG using #LongLiveIndieBiz.

As we mentioned in our Festive Trends blog post, we wish we had a fiver for every time we told someone they should create an advent calendar as we’d be absolutely minted! They’re such a great way to secure press coverage, and we’re thrilled to report that our clients and DIY PR members have already landed some great features this year.

Here’s some of our favourite small business advent calendars from our clients, friends and followers…

Advent Calendars for Stationery Lovers

Martha Brook’s iconic 24 Days of Stationery Advent Calendar (£95) is back for its 5th year! Coral and Ink offer two sizes of stationery advent calendar: 24 Days of Stationery (£39.99) containing pens, pencils, stickers, washi tape, sticky notes, erasers and much more, and The Ultimate Stationery Advent Calendar (£69.99) which also contains a high quality 160gsm bullet journal!

Nikki’s Supply Store’s Stationery Advent Calendar (£80) contains 24 specially selected stationery items including a mixture of Nikki’s Supply Store favourites, as well as new items designed exclusively for this year’s advent calendar. There’s a mix of washi tape, stickers, pens, markers, highlighters, note pads and sticky notes.

Advent Calendars for Crafters

The Make Arcade’s Craftvent Calendar (£70) contains 24 individually boxed kits, each containing all the supplies you need to make a cute felt Christmas decoration for your tree. It’s a mix of Christmas themes and their trademark cute and kitsch designs such as food, drinks, adorable animals and other fun stuff!

Stitchfinity’s Cross Stitch Advent Calendar (£49.95) contains 24 numbered envelopes with details of the day’s stitching project, resulting in a beautiful decoration you can bring out every year! Because it’s the season of giving, 5% from the sale of every kit will go to WellChild.

The Fabric Godmother Advent Calendar (£99) is brand new for 2022 and contains 24 windows filled with sewing and haberdashery gifts, notions, and tools as well as some exciting surprises! It features loads of indie biz favs including Pigeon Wishes, Little Rosy Cheeks, Merchant & Mills and Jenerates.

Decorate your mantlepiece this December with Two for Joy’s Merry and Bright Advent Village (£35) consisting of 25 beautifully illustrated buildings, ready to be cut out and stuck together, as well as paper trees and even a little frozen lake to complete your village. Kits come complete with all the paper pieces you need, a ruler for scoring, a wooden scorer (great for children) and a glue stick.

Kylie and the Machine’s Countdown Calendar (£50) is back for it’s second year, and is available direct from their website in Australia, or at numerous UK stockists. It includes 24 brand new sew-in label designs, created exclusively for this year’s calendar. Each window contains two labels of the same design, making a total of 48 labels to add to your projects.

The Felt Box’s Needle Felting Advent Calendar (£47.99) contains 25 boxes of needle felting happiness to inspire you over the festive season. It’s suitable for both beginners and advanced needle felters, and there will be something for everyone with six mini projects, all the tools you need to get started and lots more!

1st for Fabrics Count Down to Christmas Advent Box (£55) contains 24 carefully curated gifts including haberdashery, branded goods, stationery and of course – fabric! Each treat is packed into a recyclable paper bag and all 24 are presented in a reusable card box.

Mia Winston-Hart has created two craft advent calendars this year: A Resin Advent Calendar (from £70), and a Clay Advent Calendar (from £65). Each calendar contains unique craft supplies and tools to create your own resin and polymer clay pieces. The picture above is taken from this sneak peek reel!

Advent Calendars for Candle Lovers

Vegan Bunny’s Zero Waste Advent Calendar (£39.90) includes a seasonal tea light holder, 24 zero waste tea lights with a different scent for each day, a medium candle with a new scent exclusively for this year’s calendar and a gift card to use on their website. As with all Vegan Bunny orders, each calendar sold equals one tree planted!

Pearl Aromas’ Wax Melt Advent Calendar (£14.99) has 12 differently scented individual hand-poured seasonal wax melts including frosted eucalyptus and Christmas trees. Each melt lasts for six hours so this box may well last you through December and beyond!

Advent Calendars for Jewellery Lovers and Tea Drinkers!

Bring in the festive season in style with Lilac Tree’s very first 12 Days of Christmas Jewellery Advent Calendar (from £220). Inside each beautifully-wrapped package you’ll found a piece of handcrafted jewellery featuring sterling silver, ethically sourced gemstones, and/or sustainable wood. This would be a lovely one to share with a friend or family member.

After sell-out success in 2021, Mindful Roots’ X-Tea-Mas Advent Calendar (£40) is back for 2022! Countdown to Christmas with an award-winning natural vegan-friendly loose-leaf tea, presented in sustainable plastic-free packaging.

Please note that all of these gorgeous advent calendars are available at the time of publishing this blog post, but many of them have short pre-orders windows and of course many of them will sell out! Get those orders in promptly if you want to countdown to Christmas in small business style!
