#LongLiveIndieBiz - July 2022

This one’s gunna be a scorcher…

…and by that we mean both this blog post and the weather in the UK this week! Whether you’re a heat lover or loather, grab an iced tea or refreshing beverage of your choice, sit back and enjoy some indie businesses eye candy that’s been catching our eye recently…

House of Bilimoria blouse
Ruby Petola Earrings
Highball Cocktails
The Positive Planner

From L-R:

We may or may not have let out an audible gasp when this stunning pink and yellow Ācamana Shirt (£250) by House of Bilimoria graced our Instagram feed! Shilpa and her team use second hand, vintage and heirloom textiles to create their pieces, and everything is sewn in Wembley, UK. That plaited(?) detail is just chef’s kiss!

We bet these statement black and gold polymer clay earrings (£20) by Ruby Petola look incredible in the sunshine! We love watching crafty process videos, and owner Lorna recently shared how these stunners are made over on Instagram.

Nothing says summer like a G&T or Aperol Spritz and not drinking is no reason to miss out! The husband and wife team behind Highball have created a range of alcohol-free vegan cocktails (from £4.99 for two) made with natural ingredients and no artificial sweeteners. Our ever-willing taste-tester Joy confirms that these taste like the real deal!

As you may have gathered from this blog post, Team Untld Project are BIG stationery lovers. The Positive Planner (£22) takes you on a 12-week journey of self-care, gratitude and daily positivity, and The Positive Planner’s ethos is all about organising your life and mind. Where do we sign up?

A Bag Less Ordinary
Aunt Daisy's Finest fudge
The PomPomPorium necklace
Dr Botanicals

From L-R:

A Bag Less Ordinary use a mix of Liberty and Ankara fabrics to celebrate owner Naadu’s English and Ghanaian heritage. This colourful Ankara and faux leather cross body bag (£50) is the perfect size for your daily essentials and stops you lugging too much around in the heat!

We stumbled across Aunt Daisy’s Finest on Etsy, and were thrilled to see that Catherine’s range of old-fashioned fudge and toffee includes an impressive vegan range. This vegan salted caramel fudge (£4.99) is slow-cooked to bring out a rich caramelised flavour. Erm, yes please.

Linzi of The Pompomporium describes herself as a colour-loving maximalist, and that shines through her vibrant collection of homewares and accessories. We are so here for the Y2K vibes of this black and white beaded necklace with colourful smileys (£10). Gen Z who?

Vegan and cruelty-free beauty brand Dr Botanicals was founded in 2011 and while they’ve won numerous awards and are stocked around the globe, they’ve proudly retained and shouted about their indie status. This 2-in-1 watermelon cleanser (£16.90) looks good enough to eat, but is probably better suited to cleansing and removing make up.

Loaf MCR raspberry loafnuts
Lilac Tree birth stone rings
and Chai Isabelle candle
Mille Saisons cleansing set

From L-R:

We keep a mental list of indie eateries up and down the country so we know we’re never far from a tasty snack while out and about. We haven’t made it to Loaf MCR yet, but their pink interior and gram-worthy baked goods have us clamouring to find an excuse for a Manchester road trip! How on brand are these raspberry loafnuts (£26 for 12)?

DIY PR member Leila of Lilac Tree hand crafts contemporary jewellery using recycled sterling silver, fair-trade gold, ethically-sourced gemstones and vegan-friendly processes. These delicate birth stone rings make ideal gifts, memorials or even engagement rings! We’ll take one in every colour, please!

Who says candles are just for Autumn and Winter? This dreamy Isabelle soy wax candle (£16) has soft notes of ylang-ylang, French vanilla, apricot, sandalwood and jasmine, making it the perfect scent for lazy Summer days. & Chai’s candles are inspired by childhood nostalgia and are vegan, cruelty-free and fully recyclable.

Still using disposable cotton pads? Add a touch of luxury to your skincare routine with this silk cleansing set (£48, individual pieces start at £7) from Mille Saisons. Silk is known for its hypoallergenic properties, and this set will look hella cute on your dressing table! Jo has also recently launched a vegan bamboo silk range.

Wanna be a part of our monthly round ups? No worries babes, simply use the #longliveindiebiz hashtag on IG and we’ll give you a cheeky shout out in one of our future blog posts!
